Any work undertaken by ShotByLucy® are subject to the following terms & conditions:

Turnaround Times

All orders have a standard turnaround maximum time of 7 workings days. It's usually quicker but during busier periods time-scales may vary slightly. This will be confirmed when booking your photo shoot. (Timescales do not include weekends or bank holidays).

Returning Your Items

We charge a standard price of GBP 9.99 for packages up to 30kg with dimensions of no greater than 60cm x 60cm x 60cm. For smaller/lighter parcels this is usually a lot less. If you need your products back urgently, please advise at time of booking as we cannot be held responsible for items arriving late for a specific requirement. When we return your items to you we ensure that they arrive quickly & safely.

All of our parcel services are supplied by either UK Couriers or Royal Mail Recorded services & you can track your parcel online at any time, absolutely FREE of charge. Whilst in transit to our studio, products should be covered by the courier's insurance & it is the client's responsibility to ensure that the insurance is sufficient to cover the goods that are being transported.

When we return your items we will add £50 of insurance cover for FREE; items can be insured for up to £1,000 (should the worst happen!). If you are shipping items of high value, a separate shipping quote will be given to ensure your goods arrive home safely. ShotByLucy® will accept no responsibility for items that are lost or damaged in transit; nor will we be liable for any loss of business/earnings. If you prefer to arrange your own courier to collect your stock, this is absolutely fine, please supply us with relevant labels for your parcels & just let us know when to expect collection.

We'll take care of the rest. Please note: Stock that is not collected within 3 months will be donated to charity. 


Whilst we have your items, they will be covered by our insurance. If we need additional insurance to cover more valuable items then this can be discussed & arranged as required.

Returning Your Items

If there is nobody available to accept delivery then there will be no deliveries made. If a signature can be obtained then the courier will deliver the consignment. If there is nobody available to receive the parcel; the driver will leave a card & return the parcel to the local depot. Please contact us or the details on the courier calling card to re-arrange delivery.


Our prices are subject to change at any time. Prices will not be altered mid-project but prices may increase periodically.

Paying For Your Photography

We will invoice you for your photography once it has been completed. Low resolution watermarked images will be supplied digitally in JPEG format for the client to approve prior to making payment. Any amendments can be made during this time. Payment is due upon receipt of invoice & final high resolution images will not be released before full payment has been received. Use of our photography before settling your invoice is strictly prohibited.  We accept payment by BACS, credit/debit card, & PayPal. We aim to upload your shiny new photos within 48 hours following receiving your payment. Images supplied will be in JPEG format. All of our prices are all inclusive, so what you see is what you pay & no hidden extras.

Receiving Your Images

Once cleared payment has been received we will upload your new photos & provide you with a link to view/download them.  (Images are supplied in JPEG format, should you require PNG files, please request this when you book your photo shoot as this can be done during the editing stage. Any PNG requests made after the editing stage can be completed but the time taken will be charged at our standard hourly rate). Due to the large number of photographs we take, we ask you to download & save them to your computer as we only keep client photography on our system for 12 months. This way, you will have your own copy safely stored on your computer.  Soon after we'll post your items back to you along with a CD of your imagery (if required). Please ask if you require a copy of your new photos on CD & we will supply one FREE of charge.


Low resolution images will be presented to the client for their approval before being asked to pay for them. Based on this approval system, we cannot offer refunds against our photographic images after the images have been approved & payment has been made.


Where possible we ask that a minimum of 48 hours notice is given should you need to cancel a photography booking. We are extremely busy & when notice is given to us we are able to let another client book into the space that you no longer need. We wont charge you penalties for having to pull out but we appreciate a 'heads up'. Missed bookings with no prior warning will be charged in full.

Photography Brief

Photography will commence once the client is happy with the terms of work to be carried out & this will be confirmed with either a written or verbal agreement. Changes/additional requests made to original brief will delay original timescales & may incur additional charges. Your photography will be supplied fully edited. Dust/imperfections removed, colour enhancement/correction, full cleanup & cropped for web. For any additional editing work that exceeds the basic editing requirements, clients will be charged our hourly rate.  Our time is precious, if you book a shoot for a specific quantity of products, please inform us as soon as possible if the quantity is going to be different from originally stated.  Minor difference we can accommodate but if there is a significant difference in the quantity, we may not be able to meet the original deadline agreed.


Once you have viewed your new photos, you may require some tweaks. This is absolutely fine & we aim to complete amendments within 48 hours. (Working Days Only)  We will make any editing amendments free of charge.  However, where the brief has been adhered to &/or the client makes additional requests, these will be charged for. If a photography brief is not supplied, we assume that you would like us to choose the best way to photograph your products. We will use our own experience & creative flair to photograph your products how we see fit. If a brief is not supplied, we have photographed the products & then the client wants to make alterations, additional charges will be applied.  Please note that during busy periods, we may not be able to complete additional requests (outside of the original brief) until a later date.

Our Promise

We are confident that you will LOVE your photos, but should you not be 100% happy, we will re-shoot them for FREE. This doesn't apply to when we have adhered to the client's initial brief & the client has made alterations/changes to the brief. In this case, images will be re-shot but this will incur an additional charge per item shot. All requirements should be clearly stated from the beginning prior to work commencement.

Unpaid Invoices

If payment is not made by the due date an additional charge of £5 per day will be added to the total amount due for each day that the invoice remains unpaid.


We retain Copyright on all images supplied to our clients but we give you unlimited permission to use images for UK advertising, brochures, magazines & web use. We don't limit your usage to specific time-scales, once you have paid for them they are your images to use as you like. We understand that it isn't always possible to give credit in printed publications however, we do ask that when your photo is featured/published somewhere that you let us know. This way we can share your success on social media & update our portfolio. We also appreciate if clients credit us when sharing our photography on social media by tagging @ShotByLucy &/or including the following caption '#ProductPhotography by @ShotByLucy'.

Selling on your photos to other companies for their own business use is strictly prohibited.

Force Majeure

ShotByLucy® shall have no liability to the client if it is prevented from or delayed in providing its service by acts, events, omissions or accidents beyond its reasonable control, including failure of a utility service or transport network, act of God, war, riot, civil commotion, malicious damage, compliance with any law or governmental order, rule, regulation or direction, accident, breakdown of plant or machinery, fire, flood, storm or default of suppliers or sub-contractors.


We hope you are happy with your new pictures & we may tweet about them. By using our service, you are agreeing to this but if your products are super confidential, please let us know prior to the shoot & we'll keep things hush hush!  Clients are responsible for advising if they do not wish for us to promote their new photography on social media.  We cannot be held responsible for damages where the client hasn't made this clear in writing/email.


When you contact ShotByLucy®, you give permission to add you to our mailing list.  It's sporadic, we don't send them often so you wont be bombarded, but it allows you to keep up to date with our latest news, offers & discounts.  If you receive our newsletter & would prefer not to, you can unsubscribe at any time by following the instructions in the newsletter email.


Any photographs taken by ShotByLucy® may be used in our own advertising.  This includes printed material as well as digital & social media.  Where our backdrops have been used, we may also use your photographs for advertising on our sister company PhotoBackdrops website, printed material & social media platforms.
